10th October 2013

Sleepstation brings together technology and clinical excellence to deliver interactive mixed media therapy and we were very pleased to be asked to speak at DIBI Conference 2013. DIBI (Design It : Build It) international web conference was held at the Gateshead Quayside’s stunning BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art on 7th October 2013.

Kirstie Anderson works in one of the UK’s largest NHS sleep services. She divides her time between seeing patients who are sleepy or sleepless and clinical research trying to understand more about why the brain needs sleep. As one of the developers of the online insomnia treatment programme, Sleepstation, she has had to try and integrate the worlds biggest and best connected supercomputer (the human brain) to the web. She runs marathons in Northumberland in her spare time as an aid to good sleep.

Dr Kirstie Anderson's talk was well received by delegates and speakers alike, with many citing it as their favourite talk of the day:

The Office Above tweeted - An awesome talk on the power of sleep and the effect of deprivation with Kirstie Anderson
